Semester Abroad

Students of the WiSo-Faculty can participate in a semester abroad through various exchange programmes. Here you can find an overview of the options with links to further information:

  • Study Abroad Programme (STAP): successful applicants can spend one semester studying at a partner university. Organisational support is provided from the Center of International Relations of the WiSo-Faculty (ZIB-WiSo). STAP includes exchanges through the ERASMUS-Programme.
  • University-wide Partnerships: university-wide cooperations are also available for a semester abroad. This option is organised through the International Office (link only available in German).
  • Freemover: A self-organised exchange as a freemover is also an option for students that wish to spend an exchange semester at a university outside of the STAP and university-wide partnerships.
  • Summer school or a short-term programme are also further options.

Students considering study abroad options should begin planning this at the start of their studies due to application deadlines and individual planning of studies required. It is only possible to spend one semester abroad through the STAP-Programme.

The WiSo-Faculty has integrated Studies Abroad modules within the bachelor‘s programmes to allow for credit transfer of modules studied abroad. Furthermore, students have the option of applying for a single course credit transfer. Further information for the requirements and regulations for credit transfers can be found here.
